Heart Crayons
Hello everyone! My college classes just recently started again which means I get to go back to my placement at an elementary school on Monday. The class that I help out with is a first grade class and I basically just go once a week and help out with the students and do anything the teacher needs me too. Like most first grade classes my class is having a Valentines Day party so I wanted to make some really special for them. I was looking around on Pinterest one day and found a really cute idea for rainbow heart crayons...I thought to myself that would be perfect!" So I decided to make them.
Their are about 23 students in my class so I figured I would need a lot of crayons to make the hearts so I went on Ebay and ordered a giant Ziploc bag of used crayons instead of having only one of every color in a 64 pack. I peeled each crayon and put them in a container. I also bought a Wilton Silicone Mini Heart Pan on Amazon.
When I they were small enough I added them to the pan. The directions on Pinterest did not say any specific way to put the chopped up crayons into the pan so I made sure their were some light colors along with dark colors in each just to make it more of a colorful heart. I set the oven to 235 degrees and put them in for 15 minutes to melt.
I suggest putting the silicone pan on a baking sheet just so its easier to take out of the oven and so the melted wax doesn't spill everywhere.
After I took the pan out their were a few tiny pieces of crayon that did not melt fully so I just pushed the piece into the center of the heart and you couldn't even notice! I decided to take the silicone pan off of the baking sheet and placed it on two gel ice packs to help them cool down faster. After about a half hour they were ready to pop out. This was my final result! I plan to add them onto a Valentines Day card.

After I finished that I started chopping up the crayons...that was starting to take forever so I just snapped them into pieces by hand.

I was on Pinterest the other day and found a really cute and simple way to make some Valentine's Day paper clips! These would be a great ideas as a bookmark! Its as simple as bending a large paper clip into the shape of a heart. Here is how to do it:
First hold your paper clip exactly like I did in the picture below. Next you need to bend the at the point I have pictured below to make your heart even on both sides. Make sure when you are bending it that you keep both ends of the paperclip on the same side so that you don't have any ends poking over your page.
And this is the finished product..Enjoy!

Happy Holidays!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. I have been so busy with
everything that I really did not have much time to make cards in the
days leading up to Christmas. Now that things have slowed down a little
(And I don't go back to college until the 16 of January!) I have found
more time to make cards. Including my birthday, I have quite a few
friends who have birthdays right after Christmas so I have been making
cards for all of them! Here are a few:

Welcome Baby Card!
I have been wanting to use Cricut Craft Room for a while now but I haven't had the chance to until tonight. If you have the chance I would definitely recommend trying it out! I have seen cards time to time with a baby onesie so I was pretty excited to find out that their is one that is free on CCR! So this is what I came up with: I used the onesie cut on CCR, the heart from Plantin Schoolbook, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder, My Pink Stamper Stamps, and some white ribbon...
Enjoy!

Card Packs
Here is one of the many things I have been working on before Christmas comes...Christmas card packs! I have included 4 cards in each set: a birthday card, a thank you card, a get well soon card, and a neutral card that can be used for whatever occasion comes along!
These next to I actually have made similar cards of before...I figured it would be easier to add a few I have made in the past so I didn't have to create 4 brand new ideas. The one with the crab has the stamp "Snappy Birthday" inside.
These are the finished products! Sorry the picture quality is bad!

Ornaments
So last year during Christmas time I saw a video from My Pink Stamper about how to make your own glitter ornaments. I decided to make some which turned out awesome! I ended up buying way more glitter and glitter it glue then I really needed so I figured I could try to use it up by making some more this year. I decided to do it a little different this year by making them smaller and I also used chunky glitter instead of fine glitter. Once again they turned out great!
These are all the supplies I used. Beacon Adhesives makes this awesome water based glue called Glitter-It. I used that along with glitter, clear glass ornaments and a old plastic cup to empty the glue into.
Steps for making them:
1. Make sure the ornaments you are using are clean and dry inside or else the glue and glitter will not coat right.
2. Take off the hanger of the ornament
3. Pour about 1/2 tablespoon amount into your ornament and slowly tilt your ornament so the glue coats the whole inside. When the inside is fully coated you will need to slowly empty the glue into your cup. (While you are doing this make sure you coat the opening of the ornament by turning the ornament slowly like you did above)
4. If the ornament you are using is big enough you can put your ornament into the cup and it will drain by itself. If it is not big enough you can just hold your ornament until all the excess glue drips out of it.
5. After the excess glue drips out you are ready to put the glitter into your ornament! Put enough glitter into the opening of your ornament so you have enough to coat the inside. Do the same thing as you did above when you are coating with the glue. Slowly turn the ornament so the glitter coats the inside.
6. After you are done with the glitter simply dump the excess out onto a piece of folded paper to recycle your glitter and put the hanger back onto your ornament. No need to let it dry!
